The chief examiner is the employment officer of all municipal employees coming under the classified service. The chief examiner shall provide examinations in accordance with the regulations of the board and maintain lists of eligibles for each class of the service of those meeting the requirements of the regulations. Positions in the classified service must be filled from the eligible lists upon requisition from and after consultation with the city manager. As positions are filled, the employment officer shall certify the fact, by proper and prescribed form, to the director of finance and the director of the department in which the vacancy exists.
