(1) When the transcript of the records provided for in this part are completed and approved by the county commissioners of the county, they must be delivered to the county clerk and recorder of the county from which the records were taken. It is the duty of the county clerk and recorder to compare the records transcribed with the original records as the records appear on the record books of the original county. The county clerk and recorder to whom the transcript is delivered for comparison shall certify under oath that the transcribed records are full, complete, and exact copies of the original records.
(2) The county clerk and recorder is entitled to $6 a day for the time actually spent in comparing the records, to be paid out of the general fund of the county requiring the comparison and certificate.
