The board of park commissioners may employ a park superintendent, who may also be the secretary of the park board and who shall attend each regular meeting of the board and report, either in writing or orally as the board may require, as to the activities, functions, and progress of whatever nature pertaining to the park lands and facilities over which the superintendent has supervision. The duties of the park superintendent must be of a managerial capacity.
