Recipients of public assistance shall notify the department of any change or anticipated change in income, resources, household composition, or other factor that may affect eligibility for public assistance or the benefit amount within the period of time specified by the department by rule. Failure of the department to verify information provided by the recipient does not absolve the recipient from the obligation to provide accurate information to the department.
