(1) The owner of any building condemned or any occupant or lessee upon whom the condemnation notice or order is served, within 20 days from the date of service, may file with the clerk of the district court and serve upon the department of justice or any officer mentioned in 50-62-101 written objections to the order in the form of a verified answer denying the existence of any of the facts cited in the notice or order that the person desires to contest.
(2) If an answer is filed and served, the court shall hear and determine the issues raised and give judgment.
