(1) Within 6 months of October 1, 2005, the owners or lessees of existing elevators, dumbwaiters, escalators, or other equipment subject to the provisions of this part shall register the equipment with the department on a form provided by the department unless the equipment was previously registered with the department.
(2) The registration form must contain the type, load and speed, name of manufacturer, location, use, and any other information the department may require for each elevator, dumbwaiter, escalator, or other equipment subject to the provisions of this part that is registered pursuant to this section.
(3) Each elevator, dumbwaiter, escalator, or other equipment subject to the provisions of this part whose construction is completed subsequent to the 6-month period referred to in subsection (1) must be registered by the owner or lessee when the construction is complete.
