(1) A person committed under 50-17-107 or 50-17-108 shall remain at the hospital or treatment location until discharged under 50-17-112 or 50-17-113. However, the person is not required to submit to medical or surgical treatment without the person's written consent, the consent of the person's next of kin or guardian if the person is incompetent, or the consent of the person's parent or guardian if the person is a minor.
(2) The person in charge of the hospital or the person supervising an approved course of treatment for a person at a treatment location may use reasonable means to ensure that the person committed remains at the hospital or location.
