(1) Except for interim committee members invited pursuant to 5-12-601(2)(c), appointments to the modernization and risk analysis committee are for 2 years, and a member of the committee shall serve until the member's term of office as a legislator ends or until a successor is appointed, whichever occurs first.
(2) The modernization and risk analysis committee shall elect one of its members as presiding officer and other officers that it considers necessary.
(3) Members of the modernization and risk analysis committee and invited interim committee members are entitled to receive compensation and expenses as provided in 5-2-302. Public members are entitled to receive compensation and expenses as provided in 5-2-302 and 5-5-211.
(4) If a vacancy occurs on the modernization and risk analysis committee established in 5-12-601 when the legislature is not in session, the new member must be appointed by the same method as the original appointment to complete the unexpired term.
