(1) When a person charged or convicted of crime in this state has been found and arrested in another state and is to be returned to this state by requisition of the governor or by a waiver of extradition or by a prior waiver of extradition, the expenses payable by this state to the agent authorized by the office of the governor to transport the person must be approved by the office of the governor and paid out of the state treasury.
(2) An agent of this state authorized to return a person to this state may use commercial transportation, aircraft, or motor vehicle to return the person.
