(1) If an obligor who would otherwise be subject to immediate income withholding under 40-5-411 demonstrates good cause not to require immediate income withholding and the department concurs, the department may enter into a written agreement with the obligor that provides for an alternative method of payment in lieu of and to satisfy immediate income withholding.
(2) The agreement must allow funds to be deducted from a financial institution deposit account or to be paid by credit card.
(3) To qualify for an alternative method of payment, an obligor must have paid the full amount of the child support obligation for the lesser of either the past 12 months or the time period since the support order was issued.
