(1) A farm mutual insurer, through its president and secretary, shall keep or cause to be kept accurate records and accounts of its transactions. The books, files, and records of the insurer must be located at its principal place of business or, in the case of a county mutual insurer, at a place within the county of its principal place of business as may be designated by the insurer's board of directors and shown in the minutes of the board.
(2) The books, files, and records of the insurer must be available for inspection by the insurer's directors and officers and by the commissioner or the commissioner's duly constituted examiner at all reasonable times.
