(1) The trustee of trusteed assets shall, from time to time, file with the commissioner statements, in the form that the commissioner may designate and request in writing, certifying the character of the assets and the amounts of the assets.
(2) If the trustee fails to file any statement described in subsection (1) after a request for the statement and expiration of a reasonable time, the commissioner may suspend or revoke the certificate of authority of the insurer.
