The author of any product of the mind, whether it is an invention, a composition in letters or art, or a design, with or without delineation or other graphical representation, has an exclusive ownership of the product and in the representation or expression of the product that continues as long as the product and the representations or expressions of the product made by the author remain in the author's possession.
