The sheriff to whom the writ is directed and delivered shall execute the writ without delay and, if the undertaking mentioned in 27-18-301 is not given, as provided in part 4. The sheriff may levy, from time to time and as often as is necessary, until the amount for which the writ was issued has been secured. The sheriff may not attach more property than appears necessary to satisfy the plaintiff's demand.
