In order to preserve and protect the biological station grounds hereafter referred to and to remove fire hazards and the danger of other encroachments tending to detract from the scientific values and uses thereof, the department is authorized to maintain a state scientific and recreational park on a suitable area to be designated by it not exceeding 15 acres at the southeast portion of the lands granted by the United States of America to the state of Montana for the use of the university of Montana-Missoula for biological station purposes.
