(1) It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation using a purse seineor having a purse seine aboard a boat or vessel within the territorial waters of the State of Mississippi to catch in excess of five percent (5%) by weight in any single set of the net or to possess in excess of ten percent (10%) by weight of the total catch any of the following species: spotted seatrout (Cynscion nebulosus); bluefish (Pomatomus saltatrix); Spanish mackerel (Scomberomorus maculatus); king mackerel (Scomberomorus cavalla); dolphin (Corphaena hippurus); pompano (Trachinotus carolinus); cobia (Rachycentron canadum); or jack crevalle (Caranx hippos).
(2) A person, firm or corporation convicted of a violation of this section shall be punished as provided in Section 49-15-63, Mississippi Code of 1972.
