An elected official shall not be precluded from serving as a foster parent under Chapter 516, Laws of 1998, and any payments on behalf of or for the benefit of a foster child shall not be considered a contract of interest or compensation or financial income to the elected official in violation of Section 109 of the Mississippi Constitution or any related statutes.
