Bonds, notes, or debentures issued by the Federal Housing Administrator or insured by the United States government under title II of the National Housing Act 1 may be eligible as security for all public deposits in depositaries, or by public officials, departments of state, or any political subdivision thereof, where bonds or deposits are required by law to be deposited.
