Every bank and every trust company organized under the laws of this state shall have power to and may, to the extent that national banks are permitted so to do by the laws of the United States, purchase shares of stock in small business investment companies incorporated under either the laws of this state or of the United States for the purpose of operating under the “Small Business Investment Act of 1958” (72 Stat. 689). 1
