Missouri Revised Statutes Title XVIII. Labor and Industrial Relations § 293.600. Director may require crossheads in shaft sinking operations

When necessary in shaft sinking operations, the director of the division of mine inspection shall order crossheads attached to the rope for the purpose of guiding the descent or ascent of the bucket or cage in the shaft, provided that such crossheads shall not be required until a depth of five hundred feet has been reached. All sinking crossheads shall be provided with a safety appliance of a design approved by the director for attaching the bucket or cage to the crosshead.
