The department of health and senior services may charge a fee of up to fifty dollars for an inspection of an on-site sewage disposal system conducted pursuant to a request from a lending institution, a prospective purchaser, the owner of the property, a real estate agent or a real estate broker. The fee for such inspection shall be paid by the requesting party. The fees collected by the department pursuant to this section shall be deposited in the Missouri public health services fund. The department of health and senior services may license and use private contractors to carry out the provisions of this section.
