The department of health and senior services shall apply for a statewide Volunteers in Service to America program to assist the division in organizing and coordinating volunteer resources in areas with a substantial high-risk elderly population, especially geared toward identifying at-risk elderly persons, personally contacting them with important information and friendly reassurance and to assist in volunteer transportation services.
