Any facility which offers to provide or provides care for persons with Alzheimer's disease by means of an Alzheimer's special care unit or Alzheimer's special care program shall be required to provide an informational document developed by or approved by the department of health and senior services. The document shall include but is not limited to updated information on selecting an Alzheimer's special care unit or Alzheimer's special care program. The document shall be given to any person seeking information about or placement in an Alzheimer's special care unit or Alzheimer's special care program. The distribution of this document shall be verified by the licensing department as part of the facility's regular license renewal procedure.
