Within twenty-four hours, excluding weekends and legal holidays, after ordering the detention or placement of a juvenile of school age who has not been graduated from the twelfth grade in a facility as defined in section 178.295, the court shall notify the school district or special school district responsible for providing an educational program for the juvenile of the name and place of the facility where the juvenile is placed. The notice shall be given to the school board of the district or to an employee of the school board designated by the school board.
