The city comptroller shall hear and determine all complaints or manifest error in the assessment of property for taxes, and in all cases when it shall appear that any real or tangible personal property has been erroneously assessed, cause the same to be corrected on the assessment books, and certify to the director of revenue all such corrections for credit to the collector. The city comptroller shall perform all duties and acts within the city, in regard to the land delinquent list, the sale of land for taxes, and the assessment books and tax bills that are imposed on county commissions by general law; and make out the back tax books and the back tax bills required by law.
