The general law relating to taxation and the collection of delinquent taxes as now existing and the provisions found in sections 92.700 to 92.920 shall apply to cities not within any county and which now have or may hereafter have a population in excess of five hundred thousand, insofar as not inconsistent with the provisions of sections 92.700 to 92.920.
