The contractor who shall be awarded said contract shall give to the city a bond with sufficient security for the performance of the work in accordance with the plans and specifications, and in accordance with the contract, which bond shall be for such sum as the council may by ordinance determine, and shall be approved by the mayor and filed in the office of the city clerk.
