Missouri Revised Statutes Title VII. Cities, Towns and Villages § 90.020. Park lands--condemnation

The common council or mayor and board of aldermen, in proceedings by ordinance to purchase or condemn lands for the purpose stated in section 90.010, shall proceed in the manner provided by law, or in the manner provided in the charter of such city for the condemnation of lands for the establishment of streets, avenues, alleys or market places, or public squares;  and on such condemnation and the payment of the appraisement as therein provided, the title of such land shall vest in such city for the uses and purposes for which it was taken.
