Nothing in sections 71.020 to 71.080 shall affect the rights or privileges of such city, town or village, or those of any person, as the same existed before such change of name. And all proceedings pending in any court or place, in favor of or against said city, town or village, may be continued to final consummation under the name in which the same was commenced.
