Any county commission which has adopted a zoning plan as provided by sections 64.211 to 64.295 shall appoint an enforcement officer who shall serve at the pleasure of the commission and receive such compensation as designated by the commission. The enforcement officer shall be charged with the enforcement of the zoning regulations, setback regulations, subdivision regulations and such other regulations as may be adopted. The enforcement officer may appoint such employees as are deemed necessary and may incur other necessary expenses, all subject to the approval of the county commission. The enforcement officer or his deputies shall forthwith file a complaint of all violations of the regulations of sections 64.211 to 64.295 with the county prosecuting attorney, in the name of the county, for appropriate action.
