1. Any member who has attained the age of fifty-five years and who has twelve years or more of creditable service as sheriff of a county may retire with a normal annuity.
2. Any member who has attained the age of sixty-two years and who has at least eight years of creditable service as sheriff of a county may retire with a normal annuity.
