May first of every year shall be known and designated as “Silver Star Families of America Day”. It shall be a day on which to honor the wounded soldiers of this state and the efforts of the Silver Star Families of America to honor the wounded members of the United States Armed Forces. The Silver Star Families of America has worked tirelessly since its inception to distribute silver star banners, flags, and care packages to wounded service members and their families to ensure that the people of this state and nation remember the blood sacrifice made by those service members.
