The board of public buildings may acquire for the seat of government in the name of the state of Missouri, by gift, purchase, eminent domain or otherwise, real property necessary, useful or convenient for the use of the board of public buildings in the exercise of any power or authority which the board has. In the event the right of eminent domain is exercised it shall be exercised in the manner provided for the exercise of eminent domain by the state highways and transportation commission.
