The general assembly, recognizing the work of the original state capitol commission board established March 24, 1911, and the work of the capitol decoration commission established April 10, 1917, and seeking to assure the future preservation, improvement, expansion, renovation, restoration, and integrity of the capitol and to preserve the historical significance of the capitol hereby establishes the Missouri state capitol commission.
