Minnesota Statutes Utilities (Ch. 216-216H) § 216B.29. Hearing and subpoena compliance powers

The commission and each of the commissioners or authorized examiner, for the purpose mentioned in Laws 1974, chapter 429, 1may administer oaths and examine witnesses. In case of failure on the part of any person to comply with any subpoena, or in the case of the refusal of any witness to testify concerning any matter on which the witness may be interrogated lawfully, any court of record of general jurisdiction or a judge thereof, on application of the commission, may compel obedience by proceedings for contempt as in the case of disobedience of the requirements of a subpoena issued from the court or a refusal to testify therein.
