Every licensed physical therapist and physical therapist assistant shall, before January 1 each year, apply to the board for an extension of a license and pay a fee in the amount set by the board. The extension of the license is contingent upon demonstration that the continuing education requirements set by the board undersection 148.70have been satisfied. For purposes of this section, the continuing education requirements for physical therapist assistants are the same as those for physical therapists.
