Minnesota Statutes Criminal Procedure. Peace Officers. Privacy of Communications (Ch. 625-634) § 626.851. Eligibility of officers

Subdivision 1. Training course attendance; eligibility. Any peace officer or part-time peace officer employed or elected by any county or municipality of the state of Minnesota shall be eligible to attend training courses as herein provided in accordance with the rules of the board.

Subd. 2. Postsecondary educational institution eligible for training course. Any student successfully completing a program of law enforcement instruction in a postsecondary educational institution, which program has been certified by the board, and which institution has been approved by the Minnesota state Department of Education or an accredited institution of higher learning shall be eligible to attend a skills oriented basic training course as established undersection 626.843. Nothing contained insections 626.84to626.863shall be construed to preclude the provision of skills oriented basic training courses by certified law enforcement schools providing such course has been certified by the board.
