Michigan Compiled Laws, Chapters 760 to 777 Code of Criminal Procedure § 774.42

Sec. 42. The circuit court for the county in which the defendant filed an appeal from a municipal court judgment pursuant to section 34 of this chapter,  1 may continue the recognizance entered under section 34 of this chapter or require a new recognizance with further or other security until a decision is rendered in the case. If a defendant defaults on the recognizance, the court may commit the defendant to jail.
