Sec. 18l. If a juvenile is found to be within the court's jurisdiction under section 2(a)(1) of this chapter 1 for an offense that, if committed by an adult, would be a violation of section 50b of the Michigan penal code, 1931 PA 328, MCL 750.50b, having to do with cruelty to animals, or would be a violation of sections 71 to 80 of the Michigan penal code, 1931 PA 328, MCL 750.71 to 750.80, having to do with arson, the court shall order that the juvenile be evaluated to determine the need for psychiatric or psychological treatment.
