Michigan Compiled Laws, Chapter 791. Department of Corrections § 791.541

Sec. 11. Beginning April 1, 2004, a person shall not be a local corrections officer unless he or she is certified or recertified by the council as provided in section 12 or 13.  1 The council shall certify those persons and recertify on an annual basis those persons who satisfy the criteria set forth in section 12 or 13.
