Sec. 9921. (1) Effective January 1, 1969, the following courts are abolished except as provided in section 9928: 1
(a) Justices of the peace.
(b) Circuit court commissioners.
(c) Municipal courts.
(d) Police courts.
(e) Recorders court of the city of Cadillac.
(2) Notwithstanding any provision of law or charter to the contrary, the term of office of all incumbent municipal and associate municipal judges ending at any time prior to December 31, 1968, is extended through December 31, 1968.
