Sec. 1343. The term of service of petit jurors shall be determined by local court rule but shall not exceed the term of court, unless at the end of this period a juror is serving in connection with an unfinished case, in which event the juror shall continue to serve, in that case only, until the case in which he or she is serving is finished. Once commenced, the term of service shall be continuous except as provided in sections 1334 to 1336. 1
