Michigan Compiled Laws, Chapter 500. Insurance Code of 1956 § 500.2237

Sec. 2237.  An insurer shall not deliver in this state an insurance policy issued under chapter 34,  1 or issue the policy for delivery in this state, if the policy contains a provision that restricts the liability of the insurer to pay expenses because the expenses are incurred while the insured is in a hospital, institution, or other facility operated by this state or a political subdivision of this state if the insured would be legally required to pay the expenses in the absence of insurance.
