Sec. 2212d. An insurer that delivers, issues for delivery, or renews in this state a health insurance policy issued under chapter 34 1 or a health maintenance organization that issues a health maintenance contract under chapter 35 2 shall not require as the sole condition precedent to the payment or reimbursement of a claim under the policy or contract that an allopathic or osteopathic physician in the medical specialties of family practice, internal medicine, or pediatrics maintain a national or regional certification not otherwise specifically required for licensure under article 15 of the public health code, 1978 PA 368, MCL 333.16101 to 333.18838.
