Sec. 16i. (1) If a consolidated township is a charter township, the election under section 16c 1 shall be considered the election required under section 2 of Act No. 359 of the Public Acts of 1947, being section 42.2 of the Michigan Compiled Laws, and Act No. 359 of the Public Acts of 1947, being sections 42.1 to 42.34 of the Michigan Compiled Laws, is the charter of that charter township.
(2) If an incorporated village is located within the boundaries of a township that becomes part of a consolidated township, the village continues to be an incorporated village within the boundaries of the consolidated township.
