Sec. 14. (1) A temporary license shall be issued to an adult foster care facility for the first 6 months of operation. At the end of the first 6 months of operation, the department shall either issue a regular license, issue a provisional license, or refuse to issue a license in the manner provided for in section 22. 1 A temporary license shall not be renewed.
(2) Before issuing a temporary license, the department may require an adult foster care facility to submit to the department an acceptable plan of correction for the adult foster care facility. The adult foster care facility shall implement the plan of correction within the time limitations of the temporary license period.
