Sec. 1230f. The department of information technology shall work with the department of state police to establish a system for the department of state police to save and maintain in its automated fingerprint identification system (AFIS) database all fingerprints that are submitted to the department of state police under sections 1230a and 1230g. 1 If a criminal arrest fingerprint card is subsequently submitted to the department of state police and matches against a fingerprint that was submitted under section 1230a or 1230g and stored in the AFIS database, the department of state police shall notify the department.
