Michigan Compiled Laws, Chapter 38. Civil Service and Retirement § 38.1006

(a) A legislator of this state.

(b) The secretary of the senate who served not less than 6 months before January 1, 1979, and for not less than 3 months after January 1, 1979.

(c) The clerk of the house who served not less than 6 months before January 1, 1979, and for not less than 3 months after January 1, 1979.

(d) The lieutenant governor.

(a) An individual who elects not to participate in the retirement system under section 18.  1

(b) An individual who first becomes a legislator or lieutenant governor on or after March 31, 1997.

(c) An individual who elects to terminate membership under section 61  2 and who, but for that election, would otherwise be eligible for membership in Tier 1 under section 18.
