Michigan Compiled Laws, Chapter 339. Occupational Code § 339.6009

Sec. 1009.  (1) An individual shall apply for registration as a building official, plan reviewer, or inspector to the appropriate advisory board and to the commission.  The applicant shall include the application fee established by the department under article 4.  1

(2) The commission may issue an initial registration for a period of more or less than 3 years for the purpose of allowing subsequent registration renewal to coincide with the code change cycle.
