Michigan Compiled Laws, Chapter 333. Health § 333.2876

Sec. 2876. The department shall provide by electronic or other means or by reproduction pursuant to the records media act 1 for the preservation of vital records and vital statistics made or received by the department. Procedures shall be consistent with those established under the authority of part 26.  2 The procedures shall require that vital records be stored in a manner reasonably calculated to assure the indefinite preservation of the information contained in the vital records against loss or destruction.
